A Parliamentary committee is launching an inquiry aimed at improving take-up of EVs.
The Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Committee is looking into the role of electric vehicles and how best to remove barriers to their adoption. The committee is inviting submissions on the support needed to further grow EV adoption. Areas include charging infrastructure, purchase costs and incentives such as subsidies or tax breaks.
Iain Wright MP, chair of the Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Committee, said: “As a Committee we want to investigate concerns that electric vehicle sales and roll-out are not as advanced as they should be and that people may be put off buying an electric car due to a postcode lottery of charging infrastructure, with the availability of charge points varying substantially across the country.”
The closing date for submissions to the inquiry is Thursday 13 April 2017.
